Amanda CAlaminici

MAKEUP & BROW ARTIST

As a former competitive dancer and pageant title holder, I had a passion for makeup from a young age. While studying at Ryerson University, I had the pleasure of working for Mac Cosmetics, which inspired me to pursue a career in the beauty industry. After completing the Essential Makeup Artist program at Complections College of Makeup Art and Design, I worked as a freelance artist in Toronto and the GTA, with a number of notable projects with Ryerson school of Fashion, Ryerson Photography, and Miss Universe Canada to name a few. After gaining more experience as a freelance makeup artist and as a demonstrator and trainer with Too-Faced Cosmetics, I decided to expand my skills and study brow shaping and tinting with Glow Academy in Toronto. Studying brow shaping was important to me as I felt having a properly shaped brow complimented a makeup application, but it was also a service clients could continue to appreciate weeks later. Being a part of Eye Love Beauty Bar since September 2015 has been an incredibly rewarding experience, because I love helping men and woman look and feel their best.

Q&A

Natural beauty is:
... having a minimalistic approach, specifically with makeup. Believing less is more, and letting some imperfections show through rather than masking them. It's about having confidence and letting how you feel on the inside show on the outside.

Confidence is:
... having a positive mind-set, loving yourself no matter what, and embracing what makes you unique.

One product you can't live without:
Urban decay all-nighter setting spray

Cheapest product in your makeup bag:
Ardell Demi wispies lashes. They have a thin, flexible band, look natural, and can be reused if taken care of.

Most expensive:
Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation. Used for special occasions only, this foundation is long wearing, with a glowing, flawless finish.

Ultimate beauty tip:
When applying shimmery or dark colours on the eyes, do your eyes first, then skin makeup. That way you can wipe away any shadow fallout under your eyes and have a clean slate to apply foundation and concealer.

Meghan WILSON

MANAGER & BROW ARTIST

I was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie and at age 19, set out west for the breathtaking  Canadian Rocky Mountains. I spent three years working at the Banff Springs hotel, with a brief pause to check out life in Montreal.  In 2008, I decided it was time to go back to school and enrolled in the esthetics program at St Lawrence College in Kingston. Upon graduation, I moved to Toronto and began working with Benefit Cosmetics where my love for sculpting the perfect eyebrow blossomed. Now, seven years later, I'm fully immersed in my craft and love every second I get to spend beautifying the brows of Toronto. When I'm not with my clients, I can be found chasing sunsets on Toronto Island, or exploring the city with a coffee in hand.
